Men Scottish team


The Scottish team is composed of five men:


Frank BAINES

Frank is a gymnast of 19 years old. He is born the 16 July 1995 in Liverpool. He is actually come from England but he is a member of the Scottish team since 2014.
His origin club is the Southport YMCA in Liverpool.

He was crowned European Champion junior all-around (=all the apparatus) in 2012. And he was selected to participate to the Commonwealth game in 2014.

His last competitions: 
2010 Junior European team champion
2011 European Youth Olympic p.bars gold and floor silver
2012 Junior European all-around and high bar champion
2014 British Championshhips floor bronze
2014 Commonwealth Games (Team Scotland) team silver



Adam COX

He is the captain of the team; he is the oldest man of the team. He is born the 13th November 1986. He comes from Scotland and he lives in Livingston. He trained in two different places according to its studies: Leeds when he was at university and Alloa when he was at home. Now he has to train after work.
He participated to the Commonwealth in 2014 but it was his last competition for the Scottish team because he is now 28 years old so his sporting career is finish after more than 20years of gymnastic. He already participated to a Commonwealth game in 2006 in Melbourne and in 2010 in Delhi. One of its most memorable competitions was in 2002 when he won gold on high bar to the World junior championships. He made a break between 2010 and 2012 to focus on his studies but he came back to prepare the Commonwealth for 2014.



Lyam DAVIE

He is a 21 years old gymnast, born the 26th march 1993. He is training in Glasgow gymnastic club three or four hours a day, every day with his coach Marius Gherman. He lives in Carnbroe.
He wants to continue to be a member of the Scottish team to do the Australia’s Gold Coast in 2018.

Dan KEATINGS

He is born the 4th January in 1990. He is British but he works with the Scottish team. He is in the Scottish team since the Commonwealth in 2006 but sometimes he represented the whole Great Britain like in 2007 to the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. He participated to the Olympic game in Beijing in 2008.

Daniel PURVIS
He is 24 years old and he is born the 13th November 1990. He also comes from England, he lives in Southport and he trains at the Southport YMCA club.
His biggest competition was the Olympic game in 2012 in London. He was the 2010 World and European floor bronze medalist and three time all-around British champion. For the Commonwealth game in 2014 he was a member of the Scottish team but usually is a member of the British team.
