Saturday Program - British Championship


Saturday 28th 

11:00 - 13:25    Men’s & women’s senior (subdivision 1) – all-around and men’s apparatus finals  
14:30 - 16:55    Men’s & women’s senior (subdivision 2) – all-around and men’s apparatus finals  
18:00 - 20:25     Men’s & women’s senior (subdivision 3) – all-around and men’s apparatus finals 

Women

It is all the best gymnast of the UK older than 16 years old. They will compete Saturday all-around title (bars, beam, floor and vault). But an individual qualification will be also take place, the eight best gymnast in each apparatus will be reward. The final of the individual qualification will be on Sunday.

The last champion in 2014 was Rebecca Tunney, she will not be here this year for medical reasons, and so this year there will be a new champion. The suitor might be Claudia Fragapane, she is very famous in the gymnastic world. In fact she already won four gold at the Commonwealth. She will have a lot of competition particularly with Rebecca Downie the silver medallist in 2014, she also win the gold in beam and the gold in bars at the European Championship. Two other great gymnast will not be here this year for medical reasons: Gabby Jupp (The 2013 British champion) and Ruby Harrold (Commonwealth gold medallist).
You will see new faces this year with the old junior who start in the senior category as Amy Tinkler (2014 junior champion), Teyesha Mattis (Young Olympic champion) or Ellie Downie (European Vault Champion).

Men
The men senior category is all the best gymnast older than 18 years old. As the girls, they will compete for the all-around title (floor, pommel, rings, vault, parallel bars and horizontal bars) and for the individual qualification for each apparatus. The final of the eight best individual gymnast will also be the Sunday.

Max Whitelock will try to win his third title in a row in the all-around. He also win the silver in the world championship in 2014. So it will be difficult for the other to compete with him. But Daniel Purvis the 2012 champion will try to take over his title, after two year of sliver in the all-around. They will fighting with Frank Baines who win the silver at the 2014 Commonwealth.
You will also see Kristian Thomas (vault 2013 world champion), Sam Oldham (Olympic bronze), Ashley Watson (high level in high bar), or Nile Wilson (four medals at the 2014 Commonwealth)…
