After this
big competition the United-Kingdom has its two biggest gymnasts in its country
(junior and senior), which are: Lyons Catherine a young gymnast of 15 years
old, born in England, and training at the Europa gymnastic center. And Tinkler
Amy, she is only 16 years old gymnast, born in England and training at South
Durham Gymnastics Club. She wins against FRAGAPANE Claudia who was in the prognostic
to win.

British championship 2015
This weekend (27 to 29th march 2015) will take
place the gymnastic British championship in Liverpool!! A big competition with
a lot of great gymnast from all over the UK. From the rings to the the floor routines, or the vault and the beam, the
audience will be in front of a great exhibition of performances from Britain’s
best.

Cara Kennedy
Today, a special post for you!
I have had the chance to meet Cara Kennedy, a young
gymnast of 17 years old who participate to the Commonwealth game last year. I
made her profile and speak with her about the Commonwealth.
FLOOR
The floor is a
common apparatus for men and women. It is a 12 meters x 12 meters sprung floor
with an additional one meter border of security. Sprung floor have often spring,
like this gymnast can bounce more. They are cover by a wooden floor, a foam and
a carpet.

THE FRENCH CHAMPIONSHIP
This weekend is the French Gymnastic championship in Rouen. It is an
important competition for French gymnast because, the selection for the
European championship will be occur just after. The European championship is
between the 15th and the 19th of April in Montpellier
(France). We will write an article about that later.
For the first time the city of Rouen will welcome the French
Championship this weekend. It is organised by the “Comite departemental de Haute-Normandie”
and by the “Elan gymnique Rouennais” the gymnastic club in Rouen. It will be
welcoming the best French gymnast.

VAULT
The vault is an apparatus for men and women, both have this apparatus in competition. It is composed of a runway of 25 meters and a springboard or a trampoline and the vault which make 1m20 of high.

BEAM
The beam is
a wood line covered by leather or deer.
The beam is:
Longer: 5 meters
Width: 10cm
The high depends of the gymnast ages, if it is too high they can’t go on and it is too high for their mount and dismount, it can quickly be dangerous.

BARS
In
gymnastic, there are three different types of bars: high bar, asymmetric bars
and parallel bars. The asymmetric bars are for girls and the high bar and
parallel bars are a men’s discipline.
